Forest cover and Bigfoot sightings

The first image below is of vegetation cover in the US. The green sections show areas where the primary vegetation cover is forest, both broadleaf and coniferous. The second image is a map of Bigfoot sightings from the Bigfoot Mapping Project.

The correlation is obvious. Bigfoot sightings almost exclusively happen in areas with broadleaf or coniferous forest, and not in desert, scrub, or grassland habitats. If the Bigfoot phenomenon is a hoax, the likelihood of a large scale, uncoordinated hoax with a variety of actors over the course of decades while also making ecological sense makes no sense itself. Bigfoot is a creature of the forest, and these maps show that.
